Don Cook

Belles top personality dies in accident
Don Cook, a Brayton Belles stalwart, was tragically killed in an accident at Kellingley Colliery on Tuesday 30th September.
Don was a founder member of the Belles in 2002 and was not only a very popular coach but also a very keen referee. Don could be seen most Saturday mornings full of energy and enthusiasm running around the fields of Brayton either coaching and motivating the young Belles or keeping them in line as the referee.
Don took part in all of our fun events including coaches v players matches, family fun days and indeed presentation evenings where he would be seen patrolling the food tables and on occasions dishing out the hot dogs (see photo)
Don was a highly respected member of the Belles club and will be dearly missed by both coaches and players alike. We will all continue to move forward in the fun way that Don encouraged and demonstrated to us all.
